THIRD-PARTY SCHOLARSHIPS
Francis D. Lyon Graduate Fellowship – The Phi Delta Theta Fraternity offers a scholarship annually to graduate students in filmmaking and related majors including theatre and writing. Applicants do not have to be a member of the fraternity to apply.
Black Women Film Network Scholarship – BWFN offers a scholarship to women of color pursuing a career in film and television.
Islamic Scholarship Fund – ISF offers a scholarship to Muslims or students active in the Muslim community. Supported majors include TV/Film Production and Acting.
Jack G. Shaheen Mass Communications Scholarship – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee offers a scholarship to Arab-American students studying Mass Communications at the undergraduate and graduate school level.
Against the Grain Artistic Scholarship – Against The Grain Productions offers a scholarship to Asian-American students pursuing a major in performing and visual arts. Supported majors include film, theatre and photography.
NBC Universal/LNESC Scholarship – The NBC Universal/LNESC Scholarship is offered to undergraduate Latino students attending a U.S. post-secondary institution with an interest in the media and entertainment industry.
Haz La U Scholarship – Colgate-Palmolive and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation offer a scholarship to graduating high school seniors of Hispanic or Latino descent. The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, legal permanent resident or DACA eligible.
CINTAS Creative Writing and Visual Arts Fellowship – The CINTAS Foundation offers two separate fellowships to students who have Cuban citizenship or are direct descendants studying creative writing, photography, video and media arts.
Avonte Oquendo Memorial Scholarship for Autism – The Perecman Firm offers a scholarship for students living with autism or whose close family member lives with autism.
The Schwallie Family Scholarship – The Organization for Autism Research offers a scholarship to students attending two or four-year universities who have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome.
The Point Foundation LGBTQ Scholarship – Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) students can apply.
LGBTQ Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Scholarship – The Point Foundation also offers a targeted scholarship to LGBTQ students from BIPOC communities enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs.
Traub-Dicker Rainbow Scholarship – The Stonewall Foundation offers a scholarship to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students who identify as lesbian women.
League Foundation LGBTQ Scholarships – The program is open to graduating high school students who self-identify as LGBTQ planning to attend an accredited college in the United States. The student must be a U.S. Citizen or legal immigrant.
Illustrating Awesomeness Scholarship – Next Day Animations offers a scholarship to young women or gender non-conforming students of color who are currently enrolled or will begin undergraduate studies.

Need Based Tuition Assistance
The Need Based Tuition Assistance is designed for applicants with financial need in order to help reduce the cost of education in New York Film Academy’s long-term programs including the One-year and Two-year Conservatory Programs as well as the AFA, BA, BFA, MA and MFA degree programs. In order to qualify, applicants must show a credible need through documentation such as income tax statements or bank statements. Applicants must also submit an essay describing their need and accomplishments.

Talent Based Tuition Award The Talent Based Tuition Award is a program designed to identify applicants with exceptional aptitude for their program of study. All Talent Based Awards are based on an applicant’s audition or portfolio and determined by the Admissions Department during the admissions process. Merit Based Tuition Award The New York Film Academy’s Merit Based Tuition Award provides financial assistance to qualified candidates of the college’s Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts Programs. Recipients must demonstrate a history of academic achievement in addition to leadership, community service and a commitment to the arts.
In order to be eligible for a Merit Based Tuition Award, candidates must be accepted to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Applicants are evaluated based upon information provided in the admissions process including high school GPA and documentation of leadership roles, awards, community service or arts involvement.
*International Applicants that wish to be considered for a Merit Based Tuition Award must have academic transcripts converted by WES into a U.S. equivalent GPA.
Matthew Modine Masters Scholarship The New York Film Academy Matthew Modine Masters Scholarship provides financial assistance to outstanding candidates of the school’s Master of Fine Arts (MFA) programs in Filmmaking and Acting for Film. Recipients must demonstrate the values set forth by New York Film Academy to further the art of visual storytelling. Candidates will exhibit exemplary purpose, creativity, and commitment to community. All scholarship decisions by NYFA are at its sole and absolute discretion and final. Rising Artist Scholarship for Teen Camps New York Film Academy is looking to award extremely passionate and talented visual and performance artists with a scholarship for a New York Film Academy teen camp or workshop. The awarded teen will have the option to attend in-person at our New York or Los Angeles campus or complete the program online. Candidates must be current high school Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors (or equivalent). You must be nominated by a teacher, counselor, boss, or mentor. CLICK HERE for more information.
The Federal Pell Grant is awarded to eligible undergraduate applicants or students who have not earned a bachelor’s or professional degree. Award amounts are based on the applicant’s level of need and enrollment status. If the applicant is enrolled less than full-time, the award will be prorated. Applicants must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to begin the award review process. All information provided on the FAFSA is reviewed for accuracy by NYFA financial aid staff. Award amounts are not determined until a full file review has been completed.

Many states offer grant programs to qualified residents however most of the state grant programs require residency and attendance in that state for grant eligibility.
VETERANS
Many of our programs have been approved for veteran’s education benefits. In addition, all those who are not fully covered by the Post-9/11 GI bill will receive a 15% discount on tuition. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Bridge Grant
The New York Film Academy Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Bridge Grant provides financial assistance to candidates of the Master’s Degree, Bachelor Degree, Associate Degree, and One- and Two-Year Certificate Programs.
The DEI Bridge Grant is being offered to students interested in assisting NYFA to bring more diversity to its campuses. Its purpose is to build a bridge toward NYFA’s mission of creating more ethnic and socio-economic diversity by increasing awareness of this mission, and supporting visual storytellers with DEI initiatives.
While the Bridge Grant is open to all, it’s focused on recruiting those potential students who can actively advance NYFA’s DEI mission. Recipients must demonstrate the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion set forth by New York Film Academy. Candidates will exhibit exemplary purpose, creativity, and commitment to community.
